Behold
Privacy Policy
Last updated November 4, 2026
The short version: Beholder keeps your screenshots on your Mac unless you connect an account, private captures stay private until you share them, and we don't sell your information.
1. Who we are
Paddyverse LLCmakes Behold (beholdmy.link) and Beholder, our Mac app. We're the company responsible for your information under this policy. When we say "we," that's who we mean. Our contact details are at the end.
2. What we collect
- Download form. Your first name and email address when you request Beholder, plus the date, the page you came from and a one-way hash of your IP address, which helps us stop abuse.
- Account details. Your name, email address, sign-in details and profile picture. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your basic profile from them.
- Sign-in records. Your IP address and browser details for each active session, so we can keep your account secure.
- Pages and links. Everything you add to a bio page or short link, such as your username, text, images, links and styling. Your public page and links can be seen by anyone.
- Captures you upload. The image, its title, file details and any text recognized in it, so you can search your library. We also keep view counts and sharing status.
- Connected Macs. The name of each Mac you connect and when it was last used.
- Visitor analytics. When someone opens a Behold page, link or shared capture, we record the approximate location (country, region and city), device type, operating system, browser, referring site and a one-way hash of the IP address. We use this to show page owners how their links perform and to fight abuse.
- AI requests. If you use AI features to build or style a page, we keep what you asked for and details about the result.
- Messages. Anything you send us when you contact support or report a problem.
- Payment details.Paid plans aren't on sale yet. When they are, a payment processor will handle your card details. We'll receive billing records, not your full card number.
3. What stays on your Mac
Beholder works without an account. If you never connect it, your screenshots stay on your Mac, and we don't receive them. Text recognition and sensitive-data detection run on your Mac using Apple's on-device tools. Beholder contains no analytics or crash-reporting tools.
Beholder needs macOS Screen Recording permission to take screenshots. It uses that permission to capture what you ask it to capture, not to watch your screen in the background.
If you connect Beholder to a Behold account, your finished captures upload to your private library automatically, along with their recognized text. You can pause uploads at any time. Text under a blur or pixelate redaction is left out of what we receive. Check your screenshot yourself before sharing, because automatic detection can miss things.
4. Why we use it
- To run Behold and Beholder, including your account, library, pages and links.
- To give you the download you asked for and send messages about your account.
- To send product news and offers, which you can stop at any time.
- To show page owners their analytics.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and enforce our rules.
- To understand what's working, fix problems and improve the product.
- To follow the law.
5. Email from us
If you give us your email address to download Beholder or create an account, we may send you product updates, tips and offers. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. You'll still get essential messages about your account or security after you unsubscribe.
6. Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with companies that help us run the service, and only as needed for that work:
- Vercel, for website hosting and approximate visitor location.
- Neon, for our database.
- Cloudflare, for image storage and domain services.
- Resend, for email, and customer-management tools we use to keep in touch with you.
- Anthropic and OpenAI, for AI page features. They receive the text you enter and your page details, such as your title, bio, link labels, link addresses and custom styling. They don't receive your captures or the text recognized in them.
- Google and Apple, if you choose to sign in with them.
- A payment processor, once paid plans launch.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people or the service, or as part of a sale or merger of the business. Anything you publish on a public page or shared link can be seen by anyone who has it.
7. Cookies and embedded content
We use a cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party analytics scripts.
Some bio pages include videos or booking calendars from services such as YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, Calendly, Cal.com, GoHighLevel and Google Calendar. Those embeds load only after a visitor chooses to open them, and that service's own privacy policy then applies. Some pages may also load fonts from Google Fonts, which shares your IP address with Google.
8. How long we keep it
Uploaded captures are kept according to your plan: 30 days on Free, 365 days on Pro, and for as long as you have your account on Studio and Agency. After that they're deleted automatically. You can delete a capture sooner at any time. This doesn't affect copies saved on your Mac.
We keep account and page information while your account is open. We keep download form details until you ask us to remove them or we no longer need them. We may keep some records longer to meet legal duties, settle disputes or prevent abuse.
9. Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile and pages, delete captures and revoke connected Macs in your account. To delete your account, or to get a copy of your information, email us and we'll handle it.
Depending on where you live, including California, other US states, the UK and the EU, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your personal information, to object to or limit how we use it, and to withdraw consent. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. We won't treat you differently for using these rights. We may need to verify your identity first.
If UK or EU law applies, we rely on our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and protecting the service, your consent where we ask for it, and our legal obligations.
10. Security
We protect your information with measures such as encrypted connections and limited access. Private captures require sign-in, but no service is perfectly secure. Anyone who has a public link can open it and pass it on, so share with care.
11. Children
Behold and Beholder aren't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
12. Where your information goes
We're based in the United States, and our providers may process information in the US and other countries. Those places may have different privacy laws from yours. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We'll change the date at the top, and we'll tell you another way, such as by email, if a change is significant.
